Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching Program

I am excited for being awarded with Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching Program.

I am presently working as the Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mahe, India which is a co-educational residential school of Government of India mandated to nurture the rural talents. I am a Post Graduate in Mathematics and in Education and have a Ph.D. in Education. I have deep interest in teaching Mathematics to Grade 6 to 12 students and I am an educational administrator too.

I am a recipient of National Award for Teachers from the President of India in 2012 and National Best Principal’s Award by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in 2009. The projects prepared by my students under my guidance won International School award by the British Council for the years 2012-2015. I also have coordinated UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) program along with Leicestershire cluster of the UK.

My passion is in exploring innovative practices in education by using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and developed many computer programs for teaching mathematics. I have been a resource person for over 32 training programs for teachers and educational administrators in Mathematics Education, ICT in Education and Educational Management. I have designed and conducted over 16 training programs for teachers and supporting staff of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti as course director. I love music and yoga and enjoy developing greenery in school campus.

My Fulbright project would enable me to identify the best practices of India and the US in integrating ICT by using open source software. It would also help me to understand the best open resources available in the countries, their effective utilization, and a common possible methodology for the best use of ICT using open sources. I am eager to meet and work with educationists from different parts of the world.
